Would you like to know how our friends in the US celebrate their wine moment?. Check out the beautiful desert picnic or an afternoon spread that makes the most of the warmer weather.
For style & travel blogger Jules, taking her California night-in on the road and heading straight for the desert is the perfect answer for when you’re looking for a little spontaneity. Wherever your road trip takes you – be it your nearest park or an entirely new city – it encourages you to get out, be a little more open and create memories with the people you’re sharing the evening with. Jules suggests packing the car with key essentials for an outdoor picnic – blankets, wine, best friends, and food you can pick up along the way.
Jules likes to keep her grocery list to food groups inspired by her “dream cheese board” – fruit (strawberries, kiwi, grapefruit, clementines, pears, blueberries, cherry tomatoes), cheese (brie circle, blueberry infused havarti, blueberry goat cheese, pepperjack, salami rolled provolone), carbs (toasted baguettes, crackers, pretzels) and ‘other’ (pistachio nuts, rosemary, olives, salami).
If you’re lucky enough to be soaking up the sun, where else would you be on a warm evening than outside, catching the sunset? When in Rome – or LA, as this case may be – content creator Kimia relies on a few key ingredients to turn an evening into an event with her loved ones.
The weather, of course, is a key consideration when taking your night-in outside, but if it is warm enough, Kimia suggests taking a simple selection of your favourite wine pairings that are easy to eat and require minimal prep. A selection of cheese – brie, gouda, etc – is always good to start with, as it pairs deliciously with a Campo Viejo red, and from there you can add flavour with fresh raw fruits and vegetables – from sugar snap peas to pineapples and strawberries – in addition to crackers and crisps, olives and raw nuts.
